What Happens If You Complete More or Fewer Jobs?
Same job economics and marketing investment, at different volumes.
How the Calculator Works.
Every figure in the tool is derived from the inputs above. Here is what each one means and which costs it does and does not include.
- Contribution per job
- Job price less materials, labor, and allocated overhead. It is what a job leaves behind to cover marketing — not profit, because marketing has not been deducted yet.
- Contribution before marketing
- Contribution per job multiplied by the number of additional completed jobs.
- Estimated contribution after marketing
- Contribution before marketing, less your advertising budget and the Modern PPC management fee. Taxes and anything not entered above sit outside this model.
- Break-even completed jobs
- The minimum number of additional jobs needed to cover the whole marketing investment. Rounded UP, because one job fewer does not cover it.
- Break-even cost per lead
- What a lead can cost before advertising and the management fee together stop paying. It includes the fee amortised across leads.
- Allocated overhead
- The share of trucks, insurance, rent, and administration assigned to each job. If that cost is already inside your materials and labor figure, set it to $0 so it is not counted twice.
The calculator is a planning model, not a forecast. It shows what the arithmetic does with your assumptions — it does not predict advertising performance, and it does not promise completed jobs.
